The Victorian Age was a truly beautiful era to be amidst.
There are so many appealing aspects of this brilliant era that capture my soul.
It was the period characterized by rapid change and developments in nearly every sphere - from advances in artistic, medical, scientific and technological knowledge to changes in population growth and location.
What an exciting time!
The world around the Victorians literally changed before their eyes, it was the first country in the world to Industrialize, bursting with inventions and reveling in enormous wealth, this transformed the country into a power house.
The change also created a great gap between the rich and the poor, the wealth of the nation mostly benefited the wealthy.
What did this change mean for the Victorians?
I think because of huge division between the lives of the Upper Class, Middle Class and the Working class, change was not a good thing for everyone in Victorian Britain. The unforeseen wealth that was created by all this change benefited the mostly Upper Class, because they were main owners of the capital. The Middle Class could also do well, but the concern lied with the Working Class whom survived with the bare necessities. So while the Upper Class and Middle Class live in lavished homes with extravagant lifestyles, the Working class lived in over populated slums.
Although, the change on a whole did thrust Britain forward, people got a chance to better and improve their lifestyles. Which in turn lead to over population in the cities as most people moved out of their Country homes in hope for greener pastures.
In my opinion this developed Britain even future as everyone was trying to come up with the next best thing, thus changing their status in society.
